Prewise got arguments for sales work form the social media survey
Social media is part of everyday life and actively in use in Finnish companies. It is important for sales and customer service to know how companies’ leaders use social media and what are their attitudes towards it. –In the future one must to be there where customers and potential customers are, says the Marketing Manager at, Prewise, Jaana Raaska.
Prewise and Frank Communications conducted as a joint project a research about social media usage in Finnish workplaces. Background of the research was the desire to update old information. –We carried out by ourselves Social media in company use –research in 2009 and were now interested in mapping what has happened during these two years and has especially leaders’ and decision makers’ social media usage changed, Raaska tells.
Efficient and professional working
Cooperation with Frank was influenced by the account of many years as well as the trust in Frank’s competence. –We wanted to do the research with Frank as we have done much collaboration in different ways. A communications office brought a wider perspective which was reflected in the results. It was also a question about resources. If we had tried to do the research by ourselves, I doubt we would have been able to realize it before the fall, Raaska laughs.
Raaska describes the research process as effortless and fast. –The active survey face of the research took a month meaning that it became a reality fast, Raaska praises.
-First we scanned the research objectives with Frank or what we wanted to achieve, Raaska reminisces. After that the research was driven by Frank who conducted the design of the research questions, sent all the questionnaires and reminders, carried out the reporting, conclusions and the media plan based on joint discussions.
Raaska thinks that the set objectives were reached well. She highlights brainstorming, commenting and analysis of the results as the most successful sections. Prewise was also satisfied with the publicity Frank was able to create. –The research had a really good amount of answers, over 1000. That is above the average of a research company and brings trust in the results, Raaska praises.
Arguments for sales and customer work
- We will use the research results in our customer work. The clients are dealing with these same issues and they have been very interested in the research results from the point of their own businesses, Raaska tells.
Raaska believes that their customers feel they have really benefited from the research results –There is a lot of conversation about social media use. Those who need to learn about it have a thirst for knowledge.
-The research also brought new insights into how we develop, sell and market our own products. We will exploit social media channels, Raaska continues.
Prewise also gained important information notably about how leaders’ social media use has become more active. –We offer our customers products and services in which social media characteristics and channels are exploited. The increase in leaders’ usage of social media is significant. That information helps our sales as leaders are also decision makers, Raaska states.
